Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using any Nereus product, including the macOS app, Windows app, iOS app, or Chrome extension, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the product.

Nereus is operated by Joseph Balkan ("we," "us," or "our").

2. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Nereus for personal, non-commercial productivity purposes.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the software.
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code.
• Resell or sublicense access to any Nereus product.
• Use Nereus to build a competing product.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

Nereus offers paid subscription plans processed through Stripe. By subscribing:

• You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the listed plan rate.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• Prices are listed in USD and may be subject to applicable sales tax collected via Stripe Tax.
• You can cancel from account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

By completing a purchase, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

4. Refund Policy

We offer refunds within 7 days of purchase if Nereus is not working as described and our support team cannot resolve the issue. Later requests are handled at our discretion.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Nereus to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Circumvent or interfere with the software's blocking or focus functionality.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any backend system or API.

6. Screen Time and System Permissions (iOS)

The iOS app uses Apple's Screen Time API (ScreenTime / FamilyControls framework) to enforce app blocking. Screen Time data is processed locally and is not transmitted to our servers.

7. Community Focus Hours

Nereus tracks aggregated community focus hours. Focus-session data used for this purpose is anonymized and aggregated.

8. Intellectual Property

All Nereus branding, design, copy, and software are owned by us. The Nereus name, logo, and associated trademarks may not be used without prior written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Nereus is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service and are not responsible for loss of productivity or data arising from use of the software.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from use of Nereus shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of Nereus after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.
