1. Overview

Nereus is a suite of deep work tools: a Desktop app (macOS and Windows), iOS app, and Chrome extension: designed to help you do focused, meaningful work. We respect your privacy. We collect minimal data and do not sell your personal information.

2. What We Collect

Account & Billing

  • Email address (for account creation and support)
  • Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your card number or billing details. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Focus Sessions

  • Session duration and active/inactive status: used solely to coordinate focus sessions across your devices (Desktop to iOS) and to track anonymized community focus hours
  • This data is not used for advertising, analytics profiling, or any purpose beyond session coordination

Website

  • Standard web analytics (page views, referral source) via anonymized tools
  • No cross-site tracking or advertising pixels

3. What We Do NOT Collect

  • Personal information, contact information, or location data
  • Advertising identifiers or tracking data
  • Content of your work or documents
  • Detailed app usage data via Screen Time: Apple's FamilyControls framework handles app blocking on-device; we do not receive your app activity
  • Browsing history: the Chrome extension's domain blocklist is stored and processed locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers
  • QR codes scanned by the iOS app are processed entirely on-device and are not sent to any third-party service

The app does not use third-party advertising SDKs.

4. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and maintain your Nereus subscription
  • To process payments via Stripe
  • To sync focus session state securely between your Desktop and iOS devices (when session sync is enabled)
  • To track anonymized community focus hours
  • To respond to support requests
  • To send product updates (you can opt out at any time)

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with:

  • Stripe: payment processing (stripe.com/privacy)
  • Google Cloud (GCP): secure backend infrastructure for subscription state and session sync

6. Data Storage

Session state and settings are stored locally on your device. Limited session coordination data (session duration and active/inactive status) may be transmitted through secure backend services when sync is enabled. No personal content or activity data is stored on external servers.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where required by law (e.g. billing records).

8. Your Rights

You may at any time:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Cancel your subscription and request account deletion

9. Children's Privacy

Nereus is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and access-controlled backend infrastructure. Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe's PCI-compliant systems.

11. Changes to This Policy

Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be posted here and, where material, communicated via email or in-app notice.
